The tradition of cattle rearing is going to vanish in Jharkhand due to mechanization of agriculture.
However, milk producers and dairy owners are keeping cows and buffaloes for income by selling milk.
Some other milch cattle like goat, and sheep are bearing reared here and there for milk or flesh.
However the practices of cattle rearing bear question marks on them as norms for cattle rearing are not being followed in cattle sheds and this business too falls in the list of sources of pollution.
The State Pollution Control Board, Jharkhand has passed an order for cattle rearing people not to keep more than nine cattle with them without its written permission.
If anyone is doing business keeping more than nine cattle, he will have to take Consent to Establishment (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTEO) from the State Pollution Control Board.
The order of CTE was passed in May 2020 for the first time by the Central Pollution Control Board, New Delhi. The State Pollution Control Board of Jharkhand has made it mandatory now.
The SPCB has classified Khatals, Goshalas, and Animal Keepers into two categories- the Green Categories and the Orange Category.
Cattle sheds keeping wounded, sick and handicapped cattle consuming more than 100 Kilolitre of water has been kept in Green Category.
In orange category those keeping dairy farms have been kept. Diaries produce dirty water, more dung and gases. The small dairy owners inhabiting in city colonies too will have to take CTO and CTE.
The secretary of the SPCB- Ranchi has passed an order to all the dairy owners and cattle rearers to obey the rules and to take permissions.
Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long)
so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted
and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring
blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any recommendations for inexperienced blog writers?
I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Excellent article. I am going through a few of these issues as well..
